Champagne

Champagne is the northern wine production region of France. It is divided in three main regions :

- Montagne de Reims: situated in the South of Reims city, where the best Pinot Noir grows.

- Côte des Blancs: situated in the South of Epernay city, where the best Chardonnay grows.

- Vallée de la Marne: situated in the West of Epernay city, where the best Pinot Meunier grows.

The grapes in Champagne benefit from a lot of light. Winters are cold and summers are hot (but not too much). Climate there makes the grapes highly acid which is perfect for champagne.

The soil is made of chalk, which reflects the sunlight into the grapes.
